Russia’s second largest broadband operator ER-Telecom (Dom.ru) confirmed that it met its fiber access network coverage expansion target in full-year 2019, passing an additional 610,000 homes in twelve months (surpassing the 600,000 premises annual goal) and reportedly reaching a footprint of 15 million apartments.
In 2020 ER aims to cover another 500,000 households with its fibre network, reports TDaily, with the largest projects focused on St Petersburg, Perm, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don and Izhevsk. In addition, ER will build networks for the first time in Tambov, Ulan-Ude, Votkinsk (Udmurtia) and Tchaikovsky (Perm Territory). In new markets, the operator will provide 1Gbps-capable internet with digital TV and smart home services.
