The Gazprom-Media OTT service Premier ended January with 1.6 million subscribers, or twice as many as a year earlier.
More than 3 million customers have used the platform’s subscription at least once, and the total number of content views has reached more than 275 million.
The news comes alongside the announcement that the cost of receiving Premier has been reduced to R29 (€0.4) a month, effective February 3.
However, this only applies to both new and existing users in Russia, while those outside the country continue having to pay R129 a month.
Premier offers both free and paid content, with the latter including exclusive films and series under the Made by Premier brand.
