Nepal Telecom has changed the way of providing the balance in their prepaid SIM card. Earlier a customer used to get Rs 50 main balance when they buy a new prepaid SIM at Rs 90. Now they have provided additional voice, SMS, and data packs while reducing the main balance.
The new SIM card balance will go into effect from Jan 1, 2020. This is also applicable for all the SIM cards bought earlier but not activated. Nepal Telecom now uses the same balance system for both GSM and CDMA prepaid SIM cards.
The services that come with a new SIM card is 40 minutes talk time, 60 MB data and 20 SMS. The talk time and SMS number can be used to call, text Ntc number only, that is an on-net package. Similarly, they have reduced the main balance from Rs 50 to Rs 10, by providing the above services.
Ntc has been providing free SIM cards to students with similar service packages for six months. Now, the same packages are introduced to the regular prepaid SIM card but for a month period only.
