Clear Blue Technologies has announced its ‘Smart Off-Grid’ technology will be used to power new telecom systems to support voice and data services from Nigerian wireless operator Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (9mobile). Clear Blue was selected for the project by Raeanna Nigeria, a local telecoms infrastructure company focused on rural connectivity and energy solutions. Two pilot sites in southern Nigeria have been selected ahead of a planned rollout across 100 sites in 2020, in order to deliver voice and data connectivity in urban and suburban areas of the country.
‘These new sites will add to 9mobile’s telecom infrastructure to meet the huge and growing demand for high speed data in Nigeria,’ commented Raeanna Nigeria’s Executive Director Tunji Alabi.
