Vodafone Germany has started to use 700 MHz spectrum for expansion of its LTE mobile network.
It has activated LTE mobile base stations using the 700 MHz band in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg with immediate effect. In the medium term, Vodafone is aiming to have 200 LTE base stations operating in this band across Germany by end of the financial year. The frequency will be used to deliver mobile broadband services and plug mobile internet 'notspots' in its network.
