Child Safe Net launches cyber safety awareness campaign in Nepal

Child Safe Net launched the “Stop Think and Connect” cyber safety awareness campaign in Nepal this month and has set up a Nepal web-site to provide cyber security awareness messaging assets for all Nepali stake holding communities.

Child Safe Net signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) earlier this year with the “Stop-Think and Connect”, Messaging Convention to promote safer use of the internet and to develop the campaign in Nepal.

The partnership is expected to enable a process for creating and managing a collaborative arrangement in the promotion of cyber security public awareness information, and, promote and leverage common cyber security public awareness messaging related to the overall goals of the Convention and the mandate of Child Safe Net as it relates to cyber security.

The “ Stop-Think and Connect”, cyber safety awareness campaign provides an opportunity to highlight positive use of the technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community.

“It calls upon young people, parents, care-takers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, agencies, policymakers and other duty-bearers & public to contribute in creating a better internet for children and young people”, said Anil Raghuvanshi, the President of Child Safe Net.

APWG Secretary General and Messaging Convention co-founder Peter Cassidy said, “Child Safe Net has successfully launched the 22nd national cyber security awareness campaign to be organized through the Stop-Think and Connect” Messaging Convention.
