Moroccan operator Inwi has announced it will be launching its mobile money service Wana Money by September, reports Ecofin. Inwi said the service will provide a wide range of mobile financial services.
Maroc Telecom and Orange also have mobile money services on the market. Wana Money was disclosed by Nicolas Levi, the manager of the service, during the MPay Forum in Casablanca.
Inwi also is sponsoring a bootcamp this August with Impact Lab to support companies developing new services to increase financial inclusion. The camp will take place 25-21 August in Morocco, helping the companies accelerate prototypes. The eight finalists of the camp will attend the InwiDays in January 2020, and two finalists will win MAD 750,000 and a six-month incubation at Impact Lab.
