Ukrainian regulator NKRZI plans to carry out the first tender for the distribution of 5G bands in 2020, reports BizLigaNet citing Vladimir Omelyan, the minister of infrastructure. The Ministry of Infrastructure support the watchdog's plans. The ministry has not specified which bands will be auctioned.
The Ministry has launched a pilot IoT project for the monitoring of one of the country's motorways. The project wis being carried out in cooperation with mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine and Nokia. LTE will be used at the initial stage, with the switch to 5G taking place later on.
