Hellas Sat 4 has been successfully launched by an Ariane 5 launch vehicle from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana.
A ku-band satellite, it will be positioned at 39 degrees and cover Europe, the Middle East and Southern Africa, with its service expected to commence in Q3 this year.
Hellas 4 will serve as a back up to Hellas 3, which is located at the same orbital slot and was launched in 2017.
