The number of mobile internet users in Honduras reached 2.5 million at the end of the third quarter of 2018, up over 250,000 in the first 9 months of the year and equivalent to 32 percent of the country’s mobile subscribers, according to the latest figures published by regulator Conatel. The total number of mobile users reached 7.7 million at the end of September, down 2.2 percent sequentially, with over 91 on prepay plans.
The quarterly report also revealed that the country’s 4G-LTE coverage increased 8 percentage points year on year to 57.9 percent of the country’s 18 departments at the end of Q3, although it ranged from 96 percent in Islas de la Bahia to just 9 percent in Lempira and 14 percent in Gracias a Dios.
