Puerto Rican B2B ISP Aeronet has upgraded its fibre-optic backbone to support 100G technology, as it seeks to support the future bandwidth and connectivity needs of its corporate customers. The upgrade includes the installation of 100G-capable PoPs across the San Juan Metro area; all backbone upgrades include the installation of Juniper Networks MX series of 100G routers.
Aeronet currently serves more than 7,000 commercial customers in Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and South Florida. The company notes that it has significantly expanded its fibre footprint in recent years, and will continue to meet the demand for reliable, scalable business-grade connectivity needs.
