Now TV, Hong Kong’s largest pay-TV operator and a leading OTT service provider, is the official host broadcaster of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2019 to be held on February 17, 2019. The marathon, organized by Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, has become a signature international sports event in Hong Kong and is recognized as a “Brand Hong Kong Event” by the HKSAR Government. The marathon drew over 10,000 runners from overseas and attracted over 70,000 local runners in 2018.
As the official host broadcaster of the event, Now TV is committed to bringing an unprecedented viewing experience to everyone in Hong Kong, including the introduction of aerial videography through drones. For the first time, Hong Kong viewers will be able to see live action along the Marathon course through livestreaming from drones. A total of 20 HD cameras will be set along the routes to capture the exciting moments from passionate runners and a production team with over 100 people will be dedicated to support this mega event. The entire race will live broadcast on Now SPORTS 1 (Ch. 631), and the public may also watch the race on ViuTV (Ch. 99) or Facebook live on Now SPORTS’s Facebook.
Being the leader in sports broadcasting in Hong Kong, Now TV will also produce a series of exciting lead-in programs and supporting programs to arouse the public’s interest in running. So Hoi-nam, a renowned marathon trainer, will share tips for marathon preparation with Now TV viewers, while inspirational stories of runners from different background will also be featured.
