Polish group Cyfrowy Polsat has introduced TDD technology in the band 2600 MHz on its LTE Plus Advanced network. In total, it will thus use 95 MHz of various LTE carriers. The launch of TDD will enable increasing network capacity in selected locations and offering better internet access to clients. The group operates already several dozens of LTE TDD base stations across Poland.
Cyfrowy Polsat Group already offers internet access using 60 MHz in the 2600 MHz band (20 MHz FDD carrier and two carriers 2x20 MHz TDD). As with other LTE carriers, new frequency resources can also be aggregated with other FDD carriers.
Implementation of TDD in the LTE Plus Advanced network requires appropriate equipment supporting this technology from the client's side. The home internet device ODU-IDU 300 supports TDD LTE technology, and leading mobile equipment manufacturers also increasingly complement their devices with LTE TDD 2600 MHz support.
