Oman Data Park, the Sultanate’s premier IT-managed services provider, showcased a cross section of cloud-based computing services, managed security services and future IT trends at a roadshow held in Muscat. The event marked the culmination of a series of three roadshows showcasing managed services, cloud hosting and managed security services organised by Oman Data Park in Salalah, Sohar and Muscat.
Said Mohamed Al Jahwari, Business Development Manager, Oman Data Park, set the stage by giving the audience an overview of the company. He highlighted the vast array of services offered through their tier three certified data centres in Muscat, KOM and Duqm and elaborated on key services such as cloud, backup and disaster recovery, managed security, classical, colocation and managed services.
Maitham Al Lawati, General Manager, did a deep dive into Oman Data Park’s managed security services. A portfolio of 300-plus customers are secured with Oman Data Park’s Managed Security Service’s ISO27001:2013 and ISO20000: 2011 Certified Operations, supported by a 24/7 Security Operation Centre in Oman, teamed with highly qualified subject matter experts.
As per IDC estimates, 67 per cent of enterprise architecture and software spends worldwide will be for cloud-based offerings, making it a default choice by 2022. Stressing on this fact, Amjad Ali Khalil, Account Manager, Public Cloud Solutions, elaborated the many services offered by Oman Data Park’s Infinite Cloud Ecosystem and fully automated platform, that allows expansion and diversification through a revolutionary, fully-integrated control panel, delivering a comprehensive and integrated marketplace that allows users to build, deploy and manage services. Subsequently, Eng. Hussain bin Hassan Abdul Hussain, CEO, Haya Water, commended Oman Data Park’s professional approach, problem-solving skills and support to Haya Water in a short video.
A series of presentations from Oman Data Park’s technology partners such as veeAM, JAGGAER, Dell EMC and F5 followed. Ankit Rajpal, Territory Manager – Oman and Bahrain, Veeam, shared the company’s vision to be the most trusted provider of intelligent data managed solutions. Its uninterrupted growth over the last 12 years underscores veeAM’s leadership. Rajpal highlighted Veeam’s Hyper-Availability Platform, which anticipates client needs using Intelligent Automation and securely meets demand across the multi-cloud world, reducing risk and accelerating innovation.
The merger of two eProcurement leaders —JAGGAER and BravoSolution Unite—has made JAGGAER the world’s largest spend management company. Marwa Aburahma, Account Director, Tejari & JAGGAER MENA, gave an overview of the company’s Source to Pay Platform and its differentiators, such as being a highly configurable and integrated solution; modern, intuitive and user-friendly interface; full governance and auditability and more.
Dell EMC’s three-pronged solution – embrace a cloud-first operating model, control your destiny and adopt an actionable strategy—was presented by Fadi Saadeh, Senior Sales Specialist, Gulf, Modern Data Centre Team. Dell EMC offers services such as fast deployment, reduced support calls, easier transition and an effective use of the cloud-operating model to deliver transformational outcomes.
The final presentation of the day was made by Yasser Elmashad, Security Specialist, F5 Application Security. Elmashad showed how F5’s Advanced WAF combines machine learning, threat intelligence and deep application expertise to offer a fundamental transformation. Moreover, it offers Bot protection, DDoS protection and credentials protection. An open discussion and incisive interactive session followed. The event ended on an exciting note with a raffle draw.
