SLT (Sri Lanka Telecom) has become the first National Telco in Sri Lanka to be awarded the ISO 22301:2012 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems.
SLT, the country’s leading ICT solutions provider and leading Broadband and Backbone Infrastructure Services provider, received two certifications, from the world renowned certification Body, Bureau Veritas.
The company was awarded the ISO / IEC 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System and the ISO 22301:2012 certification for its business continuity management system. SLT is the first National Telco in the country to receive this business continuity certification ISO 22301:2012.
An Information Security Management System (ISMS) is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information by including people, processes and IT systems so that this information remains secure. The ISO / IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system to ensure that ample information security controls and other forms of risk management are in place to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Information Assets of the company and its clients.
SLT first achieved BS 7799 certification for its Information Security Management System back in the year 2006. It was then the first Company incorporated in Sri Lanka to achieve this security standard as well as to be listed in the prestigious ISMS Registry. Thereafter, SLT has continuously maintained its certification.
This is the latest re-certification received. SLT’s full fledged ICT infrastructure and network played an influential role in the company achieving this certification.
The scope of the certification spans the company’s data Centres, network operation Centres, power and AC operations, service fulfillment, IPTV operations, ISP operations, the entire IT operations as well as Logistics.
