Dutch cableco DELTA has confirmed that its gigabit-capable DOCSIS 3.1 network now covers the whole of Zeeland – the southwestern-most province of the Netherlands that it serves – and will launch commercially on Saturday 1 December. A monthly subscription – including IPTV and VoIP access – will be priced at EUR125 (USD142). Ludolf Rasterhoff, Telecom Director at DELTA, commented: ‘Thanks to this step, Zeeland is the first province in the Netherlands that can deliver 1Gbps internet speeds to all residents.’
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Dutch regional cable/fibre network operators DELTA and CAIW were acquired by Swedish investment fund EQT in March 2017 and January 2018 respectively, and placed under a shared holding/management company, DELTA CAIW, to oversee and coordinate their operations.
