The Information Technology Authority (ITA) will organise a ceremony at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Tuesday under the auspices of Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs to unveil winners of the 6th version of Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment.
This year, 64 projects competed for the award of which 47 were public projects, 9 private projects and 8 SMEs projects.
The projects were evaluated and winners have been selected by an independent arbitration panel that comprises local and international experts with long relevant experience.
The guest of honour of the award this year will be Dr. Belgasem Haba, who is one of the top 100 innovators in the world as he registered 489 U.S. patents and 1,400 patents on the world level in the field of micro technology and internet. His inventions contributed to developing the functions of the electronic chips of the smart phones, computers and other gadgets.
