Kuwait's views a project it has proposed to establish a regional Internet network as highly important, stressed Chairman of Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority of Kuwait, (CITRA), Salem Al-Ozainah.
Al-Ozainah was speaking to KUNA after participating as head of the Kuwaiti delegation in the 22nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information, held at the Arab League headquarters.
Kuwait has presented to the meeting a work paper on the proposed regional network connectivity project, which will be discussed during the next meeting of the Arab Network Committee, he added.
The conferees talked about several issues, such as mail and communications, namely adopting results of the World Conference of Authorized Delegates that had been hosted by the UAE, said Al-Ozainah.
In addition to topics in the forefront of modern technology, the conferees examined Internet technology, artificial intelligence and data storage.
Al-Ozainah wished Arab countries to unite in efforts and expertise, in order to benefit peoples, facilitate procedures to ease Arab peoples' lives.
The Kuwaiti delegation consisted of CITRA's Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department at the Office of the Chairman, Bader Al-Sawagh, Director of Infrastructure Department Khaled Al-Azmi and Yousef Al-Dhafiri from the department of international organizations.
