To commemorate World Children’s Day, Etisalat has launched a series of initiatives that promote children’s well-being and celebrate togetherness and awareness among all children.
Etisalat’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team visited a number of schools and distributed copies of five winning titles of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature, an Arabic literary award for children's literature.
Dr Ahmed Bin Ali, Group Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at Etisalat, said: “It is most gratifying for us to see smiles light up on children’s faces at today’s book donation drive. We are delighted to be involved in a number of initiatives that ensure children can grow up in a safe, innovative and enriching environment and fulfil their potential.
“Our long term goal is to continue our commitment to corporate social responsibility, always on the way of bringing change for the better world for all of us together. At Etisalat, we always look forward to meaningful collaboration that inculcates great values and enriches the experience for kids.”
The book donation drive comes as part of a series of child-oriented initiatives by Etisalat, such as ‘Dubai Gives Drive for Education’ programme that provides primary level education for needy children in developing countries. Over 18 million children in 57 countries have benefited from the programme.
Etisalat also invited 150 orphaned children from a number of humanitarian children charities around the country to attend the ‘Disney on Ice’ show at Dubai World Trade Centre, while Etisalat’s CSR Team donated 400 children toys to a number of day-care centres in UAE.
To keep children safe online, Etisalat provided ‘Circle with Disney’ which allows parents to control how long their children are online and filter which sites they can access to keep them safe online.
