Vodacom Mozambique has signed an agreement with Intelsat to use its satellite network to expand the coverage of its 3G wireless broadband services.
The multi-year deal covers the area around the tourist destination of Pomene in southern Mozambique. South Africa-based Vodacom is the largest of Mozambique’s three cellular operators, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, with around 42% of the overall wireless market in subscriber terms.
