Magyar Telekom reported that its total Hungarian mobile customer base declined for the fourth quarter in a row in Q3 2018, dropping fractionally quarter-on-quarter to 5.30 million and down from 5.40 million a year earlier. 4G LTE subscribers reached 2.18 million at end-September 2018, up from 1.84 million a year earlier, and now account for 41% of total mobile users. Retail fixed broadband subscribers reached 1.13 million (up from 1.06 million in 3Q17), and one-fifth of customer households are now converged fixed/mobile ‘Magenta 1’ package subscribers.
Magyar Telekom’s total revenues (including its Macedonian division) stood at HUF163.8 billion (USD583 million) in Q3 2018, up 5.4% y-o-y, although three-month EBITDA dropped 6.3% to HUF53.6 billion. Quarterly net loss improved slightly, by 1.8% y-o-y to HUF6.3 billion.
