Movistar Peru (Telefonica) has announced the launch of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in the city of Chepen, in the northern La Libertad region.
The operator said 3,000 homes in Chepen can now access its fibre-optic network, offering speeds of up to 200Mbps, some 10 times faster than existing services. Telefonica previously revealed plans to deliver FTTH to a total of 139,000 homes in coastal, mountain and jungle cities by the end of the year.
