On November 30 the Dutch OTT service Fear Unlimited will be launched, a streaming platform with horror and thriller content only.
Fear Unlimited is a joint venture between Jan “Mr. Horror” Doense in collaboration with Just Media Group, Source 1 Media and Première TV Distribution. The new platform will offer a catalogue of hundreds of films, most of which cannot be found on other streaming services, and will be available for €7.99 per month throughout the Benelux. There is also an ‘early bird’ offer of 6.66 per month during the first 6 months.
The range includes dark titles such as I Am Not A Serial Killer, Southbound, Wyrmwood, The Hallow, Let the Right One In and What The Waters Left Behind.
“Although the horror genre is currently experiencing an unprecedented boom in cinemas, the offer on Video On Demand in the Netherlands and Belgium is still very limited,” says Jan Doense. “With Fear Unlimited we want to offer fans a place where not only a wide range of horror films can be seen, but also where the gems that have fallen between the cracks after the shrinking of the DVD and Blu-ray market are given a place.
Jan Doense is a filmmaker and organiser of film events. He owes his nickname Mr. Horror to his years of work in the Dutch-Belgian horror, fantasy and science fiction circuit. He was among others at the cradle of the Imagine Film Festival, the fanzine Schokkend Nieuws and De Nacht van de Wansmaak. Nowadays he is the organiser of the Amsterdamned Film Festival and the Halloween Horror Show, which had their third and ninth editions respectively last week.
