Movistar Guatemala has celebrated the fourth anniversary of its original 4G LTE launch by upgrading its network to support LTE-A technology.
According to an announcement on Facebook, the new network went live on 18 October. Prensa Libre quotes Emerson Gonzalez, the cellco’s marketing director, as saying: ‘With this technology, the user can reach a maximum download speed of up to 300Mbps, which guarantees better navigation and viewing experience for those who have compatible terminals.’ The service is available to pre-paid and post-paid subscribers in all existing LTE coverage areas at no extra cost.
