Pure Telcom has signed a wholesale deal with BT Ireland which will see it gain access to the latter’s 4,300km multi-gigabit fibre network. The agreement will allow Pure Telecom offer connectivity to 1.8 million potential customers including those situated in a number of hard-to-reach rural premises.
Pure Telecom CEO Paul Connell commented: ‘This latest deal is of strategic importance to both Pure Telecom and BT Ireland and could grow to up to EUR20 million (USD20 million) over the coming years … BT Ireland is a trusted provider in the Irish telecommunications sector and will help us to broaden our reach across the country and support an increasingly technology-driven population.’
Back in September 2017 Pure signed a EUR35 million two-year nationwide broadband deal with Open Eir, the wholesale unit of fixed line incumbent Eir. At that date Pure said the deal would help it to achieve its target of 100,000 residential customers by 2019.
