Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon LLC (Nar trademark) commissioned 498 new base stations in the first half of 2018, CEO of Azerfon LLC Gunnar Pahnke said Sept. 28 at a press conference organized by the company.
He said that of the total number of new stations installed by the operator, 380 stations support (LTE/4G) networks, and the remaining 118 support 3G networks.
In line with the operator’s plans, 387 stations supporting LTE and 29 stations supporting 3G are to be additionally commissioned until the end of the year, he noted.
Thus, the number of operator’s base stations supporting 4G networks will reach 1,706, and the number of 3G stations will reach 2,674, he added.
Presently, the operator’s 4G network covers 37 districts of Azerbaijan, he said.
The number of operator’s 4G users reaches 250, and the volume of consumed mobile traffic in the operator’s network has increased threefold compared to the same period last year, he added.
Also, compared to last year’s figures for the same period, the company increased sales by 21 percent, he noted. During the year, the company raised 170 new corporate users, he said.
