The Tunisian telecom authority INT has published two studies on the topic of taxation in the telecom sector, which it commissioned as part of a consultation process aimed at shaping fiscal reform to encourage investment. The reports were presented at a workshop held on 20 September in cooperation with the GSMA, which produced one of the two studies (“Reforming mobile sector taxation in Tunisia”).
The second research paper was prepared by PwC to evaluate the economic impact of fiscal reform on fixed and mobile services. This assessment includes an international benchmark and twelve scenarios on possible tax changes, with a five-year model based on INT’s preferred way forward.
