Hutchison Drei Austria has begun offering fixed line services under its own brand, following its acquisition of Tele2 Austria last year. Hutchison Drei is now providing residential and business customers a range of fixed internet, TV and business solutions, alongside its existing portfolio of mobile voice and data services.
Hutchison Drei, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CK Hutchison, completed the EUR95 million (USD110 million) acquisition of Swedish telecoms group Tele2’s Austrian unit in November 2017, enabling the combined entity to offer a complete service portfolio of fixed line, mobile, internet, TV and IT solutions. With revenue of EUR427 million and 3.81 million mobile, fixed line and broadband RGUs in H1 2018, Hutchison Drei says the merger with Tele2 has created Austria’s ‘largest alternative telecommunications provider’ to incumbent A1 Telekom.
