Nepal reached 39.20 million voice telephony subscribers in July, up from 38.16 million in March. The country’s mobile voice subscriber base amounted to 38.33 million users in mid-July, according to data from the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). The total included 36.27 million GSM users, and 2.06 million subscribers to Nepal Telecom's CDMA service.
NDCL led the country’s voice telephony services market in July, with a total of 19.98 million subscribers, followed by Ncell with 16.51 million. Nepal had a mobile teledensity of 130.89 percent at mid-July, while fixed teledensity reached 2.94 percent.
Nepal also had 14.98 million broadband service subscribers at mid-July, and a broadband penetration of 51.15 percent.
