Orange Poland launches 1Gbps fiber broadband

Orange Poland has announced the launch of 1Gbps residential fiber broadband internet services – one day after cable-based rival UPC revealed its new gigabit package. Orange’s new premium fibre service – 1Gbps download/100Mbps upload – is available to all new and existing customers within the operator’s current 600Mbps fibre coverage footprint including Warsaw, Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Torun, Lublin, Zielona Gora, Lodz, Ostroleka, Bialystok, Gniezno and in total 76 municipalities and nearly 1.7 million households. In comparison, UPC’s 1Gbps service is initially available only to Warsaw residents.

For existing 600Mbps package subscribers, Orange is upgrading their service to 1Gbps at no additional cost. Furthermore, it announced the launch of an upgraded ‘Smart Wi-Fi’ system which strengthens and extends the Wi-Fi range in the customers’ premises.
