Telenor Myanmar has announced it is accelerating its LTE services expansion into more rural areas across the country with the aim to cover 250 townships by year-end. Telenor’s 4G network is currently available in more than 180 cities across all regions and states in Myanmar.
Many townships from Ayayarwaddy, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan and Chin are among the first batch to have Telenor’s 4G network expansion in July. Falam and Thantlang townships in Chin State, Thandaunggyi township in Kayin State and Kyaukphyu, Rathedaung, Ramree, Buthidaung, Maungdaw, Pauktaw and Gwa townships in Rakhine State are among the townships which will be added to Telenor’s 4G network in the upcoming upgrades.
Telenor Myanmar has officially launched its LTE services in June 2017. With more than 8,000 sites nationwide, Telenor reports it currently serves around 19 million customers in through its 3G and 4G network in Myanmar.
