Spanish alternative provider Grupo MASMOVIL has announced that its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network now passes a total of eleven million homes, up from just one million this time last year.
Of the top-line figure, 5.1 million homes are passed by the telco’s independent infrastructure, with the remainder accessible via a wholesale deal with Orange Espana. MASMOVIL claims that expansion means that it now has a presence in all 50 Spanish provinces. Going forward, the telco notes that it will receive regulated access to Telefonica’s FTTH network from this month, boosting its fibre footprint further.
