T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray says the company has dramatically improved LTE network coverage and performance across hundreds of additional cell sites. According to comments Ray made on Twitter, the company's network team recently added lowband LTE to hundreds of sites in just two weeks, notably improving network coverage. This latest rollout the rollout includes expanded low-band 600MHz and 700MHz and mid-band PCS and AWS coverage, with additional work on 600MHz coverage for spotty connectivity areas coming soon.
This added low and mid-band LTE capacity should improve both in-building penetration and long-range coverage.
The company's desperately trying to change the perception that while it may offer slightly better prices and fewer headaches than AT&T and Verizon, the company's network outside of major urban markets hasn't historically been up to snuff.
