Riversong eyeing GCC mobile phone market through UAE entry

Riversong, a leading premium smart devices/accessories manufacturer, is seeking to broaden its regional footprint with its entry into the GCC market following the region’s unprecedented growth in smartphone sales over the last few years.

The GCC, and in particular, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been experiencing a growing appetite for smartphones, which is being fueled by rising disposable incomes and device affordability.

According to Riversong Chief Executive Officer, Haitham Kalakesh, this provides an opportunity for Riversong to penetrate the regional market with its unique and premium product offering using Dubai and the UAE as a gateway to the GCC.

“We have received quite an amazing response for Riversong within other regions globally, this time is for GCC and we feel really excited for this market, GCC is now strategically positioned as our next growth frontier using the UAE as our launch pad into the region. We are confident that our unique, innovative, creative, and user-friendly products will appeal to the region’s discerning consumer.” said Haitham.

Riversong, subsidiary of China-based IMG Group Communications Technology Ltd, is also seeking to establish good market within GCC by help of their core expertise within technology and innovation.

The accessories maker has already penned a deal with UAE’s Assr Al Jawal, who will be the authorized distributors of all Riversong products in the region.

As an innovative brand, Riversong will be targeting the young and upward mobile consumer who is in tune with technology and is looking to get the best quality within affordable price out of their digital devices, we believe in innovation and that is what our customer can see in our products, said Syed Ali Yousuf, Global COO, Riversong.

Riversong’s entry into the GCC and MENA markets is part of the Chinese-headquartered smartphone accessories maker’s robust expansion plan, which includes establishing operations in KSA, Egypt and Europe within the next six months.

Riversong is also seeking to expand its global reach by establishing its presence in over 20 countries by the end of 2018.

According to Haitham, Riversong’s Dubai office will be responsible for all its business across the GCC and MENA regions.
