Iflix has partnered with Moroccan telco Inwi to offer the OTT service to its subscribers. Moroccans can now receive a one-month free trial to iflix. In addition, the Inwi alliance, “Club Inwi” members of the telco will receive six months of unlimited access to iflix.
Commenting on the launch, Ihsane Moutaib, GM of iflix Morocco, said: “This launch marks a tremendous milestone for iflix. Our goal is to give the ever-growing internet-connected population the quality entertainment it deserves. We are thrilled to make our service available in Morocco and to partner with Inwi, Morocco’s leading telecommunications operator. With the largest library of top international, regional and local TV shows and movies available—all unscheduled and on demand, to enjoy on any device, iflix now offers consumers across Morocco, and Inwi subscribers alike, entertainment entirely on their terms.”
iflix has launched in 26 territories throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Present in the MENA since June 2017, iflix has won several awards for its local productions, including ASBU Selevision’s Broadcast PRO Middle East Awards for “Best Production OTT of the Year” for its original production Waklinha walaa.
iflix adapts its content to better meet the requirements of internet users of all ages and all cultures, Moutaib said: “The very identity of iflix is based on the pluriculture of the countries in which we are present, by encouraging local and regional productions, but also by adapting and localising the programmes in the host language. That’s why we offer in Morocco Korean content, doubled in Darija, with the aim of offering an original and attractive content to a varied Moroccan audience. This successful comedy The Strongest Deliveryman, which tells the success story of Kang-Soo, a gifted but unlucky delivery man, somehow succeeding in overcoming the hardships of life, we hope, will reach a large majority of Moroccan internet users.”
