TRA is briefed on experiences in the Telecommunications Sector of its counterpart in UAE

A delegation from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain headed by Sh. Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Director of Finance, Information Technology and Human Resources, visited the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA UAE) in order to learn about the best practices and strategies related to the management of licensing and regulatory affairs, finance, spectrum, human resources, and customer happiness.

During the visit, TRA UAE delivered a detailed presentation on the scope of its work which included the regulation and development of the UAE's telecommunications sector, and the empowerment of government entities in the field of intelligent transformation. In addition to a presentation on the mechanism of type approval certificate issuance. TRA UAE also gave an explanation on the customer complaints system, the customer business center and the methodology and framework of the development of government services. It shed light as well on some of its projects and initiatives, the development of its call center and the development and improvement of the customer happiness centers environment.

The delegation was also briefed on the work mechanism of the Human Resources Department in terms of the organizational structure, recruitment mechanism, training courses and performance and talent management system.

On the occasion of the visit, TRA’s Director of Finance, Information Technology and Human Resources, Sh. Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa stated "We are pleased to visit TRA UAE as part of the ongoing efforts to support and develop bilateral relations and exchange experiences between both regulators. The visit reflects our strategic plan to learn about the best practices and experiences in the telecommunications sector at the regional level which will contribute to developing our work mechanisms. "

“We highly praise the UAE's achievements in the telecommunications sector, which has positioned it as a leading exemplar in the region and on the global competitiveness indicators. We strongly emphasize that these achievements will have a positive impact on the development of the GCC telecommunications sector.” Sh. Mohamed added.

Mr. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, General Director of TRA UAE welcomed the delegation, stating "We are proud of this long journey of cooperation and exchange of expertise between both regulators, which reflects the fraternal relationship between the two countries. It was a fruitful meeting full of ideas and topics of common interest in the field of telecommunications and information. Such meetings are gaining importance from global developments at the technological levels, particularly the entry of the world into the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence and digital government, and the consequent development of heavy reliance on large data."

The delegation includes Ms. Amal Al Mannai, Manager of Human Resources, Ms. Alanood Mohammed, Acting Manager of Consumer Affairs and Eng. Mohammed Alkaabi, Telecommunications Engineer.
