Internet Service Provider, CENE Media in partnership with Econet Media’s Pan-African media company, Kwesé recently launched the best in on-demand content for Botswana through the broadcaster’s video streaming service, Kwesé Play.
The partnership will see CENE Media utilise its high-speed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service to deliver unlimited entertainment to Batswana available on Kwesé Play.
Kwesé Play is a high-quality, RokuTM Powered streaming service that allows viewers to stream content using the Internet. Kwesé Play offers over 100 streaming channels including Netflix, NBA TV, TED, Red Bull TV, the full Kwesé TV bouquet and so much more.
This partnership will see Kwesé Play bundled with home Internet packages from CENE Media, enabling single billing for all the subscription-based content available through the service such as Netflix and Kwesé TV.
The Kwesé Play streaming device is the first set-top box in Africa to officially offer Netflix.
It is an easy plug and play device, giving the user the option to either connect to the Internet using an Ethernet cable, or through Wi-Fi. During the launch, CENE Media CEO, Niall Downey said the format of entertainment is changing and the latter is now at our fingertips.
“(It is) Unbelievable selection. The choice is essentially unlimited. Entertainment today is powered by the internet, you watch what we want, whoever you are, when you want it. It is beamed into your homes from multiple sources, giving you unlimited choice. The entertainment age is now moving so quickly that it is mind boggling,” he emphasised.
Downey said the modern entertainment model is fluid and they are delighted to showcase the Kwese Play services and to have partnered with Kwese for something truly exciting.
He said this would only get bigger, with more services to be bundled and be available in the very near future for unbelievable value.
