Integrated Transport Center (ITC) in Abu Dhabi has announced an updated "Mobile Payment Method", SMS service for paid parking, which will include all vehicles registered in the UAE without prior registration.
The DoT said on Twitter that the new SMS service, that involves sending a text message to 3009, will be effective starting from January 28, 2018.
Nonetheless, the previous payment method will still be working until the announcement of its determination, according to DoT.
All public vehicles and other vehicles can be registered in the old Mawaqif system.
Authorities noted that the city code for Abu Dhabi vehicles has been changed from RED to AUH.
This initiative is part of measures by Mawaqif to provide quality services using modern technology to serve its customers with excellence. This service provides electronic payment for the vehicle category from other emirates which have not previously been covered by the service.
