Telefonica has started rolling out a new IPTV platform in Latin America based on Wyplay's Frog Source software. The Spanish operator first agreed in late 2016 to work with Wyplay on the middleware for its set-top boxes.
Wyplay said it collaborated closely with the Telefonica technical management team to develop and customise its product based on Frog Source. The successful Telefonica deployment in less than one year "confirms our Frog Source strategy", the company said.
