Mexican-backed full-service provider Claro Chile is planning to invest USD300 million in its Residential and SMEdivision – covering the operator’s fixed broadband, pay-TV and VoD services – over the next three years.
Economia Y Negocios quotes Residential and SME Director Alfonso Emperanza as saying: ‘We have been seeing strong growth recently, particularly in the home segment … This has driven us to maintain investment in the fixed market to project further growth in the future. We believe that if we maintain our current pace of development, in two more years we will be the number two provider in the residential market.’ To that end, Claro has lined up investment of USD100 million per year until 2020, with the lion’s share to be directed towards infrastructure expansion and technological developments.
