Multiple electronic services launched in Jordan

Majd Shweikeh, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology, announced the launch at the start of the year of 10 electronic services in the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Lands and Survey, Amman Municipality and the Social Security Corporation, in addition to a number of services at the Customs Department.

"By kicking off these electronic services in the Kingdom, we move into a new stage in upgrading government performance, and have worked with ministries, government institutions and service partners to ensure that the journey of the user is smooth. We are keen to address any hindrances to the provision of these services," she told a press conference.

The services are the first in a series within a plan to provide more than 500 online services to both the public and investors towards a digitized Jordan by 2020, she said.

The minister said that a number of windows were set up to provide these services through 65 electronic stations, or kiosks, in institutions and population centres and the training of 330 graduates in 278 post offices spread throughout the Kingdom with electronic panels to provide services.

She pointed out that the updated version of the e-government portal has been launched, through which the public can obtain information and services.
