Just days after releasing a Disney-branded channel on Spain’s leading pay-TV platform, the House of Mouse has reached an agreement with Vodafone TV to boost its video-on-demand (VOD) footprint.
Vodafone’s VOD service,
Videoclub
, has created a new content section with Disney films and series, including a premium catalogue with content available a week before it premieres on Disney’s linear pay-TV channels - Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior.
The VOD content will be available through Vodafone’s hybrid set-top boxes and the multi-device service Vodafone TV Online.
Through the move, the telco continues expanding its on-demand catalogue in Spain and Disney strengthens its position as a leading entertainment provider in the country.
The deal arrives after the US media giant inked a joint venture agreement with Movistar+ last month which resulted in the launch of the pay-TV signal Movistar Disney on 22 December.
