China Telecom plans to start mid-scale 5G field experiment in 2018

It is reported that 3GPP International Standards Organization recently announced that the first version of the 5G new air interface international standard for non-independent networking has been completed as planned. At the same time, participate in standard-settingChina TelecomIt is planned that mid-size 5G outfield experiments will be conducted in cities across China in 2018 in preparation for the 5G commercial trial in 2019 and the subsequent commercial scale.

Liu Guiqing, deputy general manager of China Telecom, said that the completion of the 5G new air interface standard for non-independent networking and the formulation of the new 5G air interface standard for independent networking will be extremely important for the research and development of 5G products and their commercial deployment and evolution Meaning. As an important member of the international standard setting, China Telecom will respond positively to the national strategic deployment. In 2018, China Telecom will conduct mid-scale field experiments in some cities to prepare for 5G commercial use.

It is understood that in participating in the 5G international standard setting process, China Telecom has independently developed the 5G technology and system simulation verification platform to provide the necessary scientific basis and criteria for the in-depth discussion, selection and standardization of 5G key technologies; leading and advancing Key proposals such as "5G eLTE-5GC Connectivity" and other key proposals in terms of convergence architecture and protocol design were adopted to provide important evolution ideas for 5G network convergence. The "Three Clouds" proposed by China Telecom (Access Cloud, Control cloud, forward cloud) 5G network architecture has been approved by the national 5G promotion group, becoming China's 5G architecture benchmark program.

By the end of November 2017, China Telecom has led 21 projects of 5G international standards in 3GPP and ITU International Standards Organizations, submitted over 300 international standard documents and obtained 120 technical patents. These efforts contributed 5G independent intellectual property rights to China for the 5G international standard discourse power.
