Shentel sets-up local towers for 4G LTE network

Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel), a Sprint affiliate, announced that new cell sites located in Kimberly and Meadow Bridge have been built to provide and enhance coverage in the Fayette County area.

The new cell sites are equipped to provide 4G LTE, which means clearer and fewer dropped calls and faster download speeds to offer customers a better experience when calling, texting or streaming video. The tower enhancements will improve coverage along Route 20 while bringing new coverage to the town of Meadow Bridge, including Meadow Bridge High School, and to the West Virginia Turnpike between Beckley and Charleston.

These additional sites and upgrades are part of the Shentel-owned Sprint network upgrades that have occurred throughout 2017 in Virginia and West Virginia. Shentel has invested over $350 million to ensure 100% of their towers are 4G LTE to offer better coverage to customers in previously underserved areas.

“We are committed to providing the best possible customer experience throughout the Fayette County area. With Sprint’s exceptional value on unlimited plans and our outstanding local customer service, we are fast becoming the choice for wireless in the area,” said Willy Pirtle, Senior Vice President of Wireless, Shentel.
