Chittagong's economy generates 50% of revenue for the government
Panellists at an event agreed that digitalization of the Chittagong port will make it more effective and efficient.
Grameenphone hosted a discussion titled “Digital Development: Road to Empowerment” at Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on Wednesday.
Grameenphone’s Deputy CEO Yasir Azman and Telenor Health CEO Sajid Rahman presented two keynote papers on “Digital Transformation in Telecom Sector and Digital Health Information” during the event.
Chittagong is the commercial capital of Bangladesh. Its economy generates 50% of revenue for the government.
Grameenphone, as the leading digital service provider in the country, believes that digital technology can minimize the gaps in productivity, infrastructure, and targets assigned to it.
Officials from major industries and members of the civil society also spoke during the programme.
Speakers discussed the window of opportunity that the leading telecom operator can bring if Chittagong becomes digitized.
