Proximus, Belgium’s largest internet service provider (ISP) by subscribers, has added the city of Liege to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network footprint. The company has already connected around 160 businesses in Liege over the past few years, with 70% of the 81 business parks in the province now connected to fibre. Proximus stated that over the coming weeks optical fibre will be rolled out in Liege city centre and the telco plans to invest EUR3 billion (USD3.58 billion) over the next ten years to accelerate the growth of fibre in Belgium. Proximus added that it intends to provide fibre-optic services to more than 85% of businesses and 50% of households in the country.
