NCCR starts amendments to legal base for introduction of 4G

The National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) on November 21, 2017 approved a draft government resolution amending the fee for the radio frequency (RF) spectrum use licenses and the proposals amending the RF spectrum use plan.

The commission said in a press release that the decision was made after receiving letters from Intellectual Communications LLC on the company's readiness to convert RF bands in the 2,345-2,400 MHz range on some conditions and Peizazh TV and radio broadcasting company LLC on its readiness to release RF bands where the services to the company's subscribers are provided in the 2,300-2,400 MHz range.

"The decision is aimed at implementing the decree of the President of Ukraine on the provision of conditions for the introduction of the fourth generation mobile communication and the implementation of the action plan for the introduction of the fourth generation mobile communication [approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine]," the NCCR reported.

The draft document was developed taking into account the results of research work on the state of distribution of the RF spectrum of Ukraine.
