Riyadh, 20 Nov. 17 STC participates in the annual MENA Information Security Conference 2017 that will take place in Riyadh on Tuesday. The conference is sponsored by (STC Solutions), a subsidiary of STC Group, and will be attended by Leading world companies in the field of Information Security and technology. Dr. Biyari, STC Group CEO will give a speech in the opening session that will discuss the importance of confronting E-threats in the Kingdom and the region, and the role of STC in addressing aspects of information security solutions and spreading its culture at the individual and business levels.
Eng. Omer Alnomany, STC Solutions CEO, stated:” the Gulf States have been attacked by external electronic organization, last year specifically, which targeted information infrastructure, and this developed to a high level of regulation, which requires the acceleration of information security awareness, with benefiting from regional and international experience in combating the so-called cyber-attacks. Therefore, we cared to sponsor and participate in the annual information security conference, and the company will support, exclusively, Hackathon Contest that will be held on the sidelines of the conference. This contest, will contribute to qualifying the local capabilities of Saudi youth in the field of information security, to benefit from them in the responding to cyber-attacks. It target students of Saudi universities, and serve as a platform to inspire them, and use their technical talents through an approved contest in which they try to penetrate the model of a smart city, the top three contestants will be rewarded with cash prizes, in addition to honoring their universities. The contest aimed at attracting young Saudi talents, to prepare them for future roles in the field of information security, and provide protection for infrastructure and data around the Kingdom.
The information security conference is in line with the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 and the National Transition Program 2020. It aims to promote developed society in Technology sector, and increase the chances of meeting between leaders and thinkers in this domain in the Kingdom. The conference will discuss a series of important working papers that will provide a detailed "road map" about the nature of cyber threats, and address the growing exploitation of electronic networks for purposes that affect the safety of national information infrastructures.
