Rogers wireless subscribers in Winnipeg, Brandon, Portage La Prairie, Selkirk, Steinbach, Gimli, Morden, Winkler, Churchill, Thompson and Flin Flon can now take advantage of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) service on the network.
LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) is the next-generation network technology which combines two or more bands of spectrum to create a larger pipe for data to travel in. Ideally, it provides a more consistent mobile experience.
"We have a long and proud history in Manitoba of bringing our customers continued network improvements that help them connect to what matters most to them," said Colin Bartlett, Rogers’ Prairies regional leader.
Rogers is also deploying additional spectrum in Manitoba, which should provide better coverage in hard-to-reach places like basements, elevators and buildings with thick concrete walls.
Rogers has recently constructed new cell-tower sites in Winnipeg — at Broadway and Main, Riverview, Ridgewood, Inkster Industrial Park, McPhillips Ave., Unicity, and in Brandon north. Construction is also underway at Sage Creek.
