Vodafone Portugal and rival full-service operator Nos have signed an agreement to deploy and share combined fibre-to-the-home/building (FTTH/B) infrastructure which will be marketable to around 2.6 million homes and businesses in Portugal. Under the terms of the pact, the two companies will provide reciprocal access to each other’s networks on commercially-agreed terms, but customer connections and activations will remain independent. Further, the partnership will also encompass mobile infrastructure, with a minimum of 200 cell towers set to be shared by the two operators. The agreement will take effect in early 2018.
